so i’m up at michigan state for AOP. i’m a cool kid sitting around in the computer lab. i ended up in a single room and my roommate never showed up (they had a futon rolled out for a second bed) so i have a whole room in north case all to myself. they have placed us in rooms by what hall we are in – so i’ve met a ton of cool people in bryan. we actually went to see bryan hall – the rooms are HUGE! definitely an upside.
i met a boy named michael from bloomington, IL. kinda strange since my own michael is in bloomington as i type this. emily is up here, too, so i keep seeing her all over the place. in fact, i even said hi to her and waved a couple times in passing. i just caused everyone reading this to faint, didn’t i?
everyone else has complained about how orientation is boring & stuff .. it’s not so bad. and today’s only the first day! tomorrow is the fun stuff: scheduling. they assigned us “homework” .. and boy was i in for it when i discovered that what i initially picked out isn’t going to work. well, it will, but i think i need to pick a social science class and a writing class in addition to what i looked at beforehand. oh bother.
i was also informed that i have to take cem 141 (chemistry) in order to graduate from the college of natural science. after listening to the orientation to my selected major today, i think i am in the wrong place. something is really urging me to just suck it up and be an english major … but how the hell could i make a career out of that?!
on the bright side, honors college students are pretty much forbidden to take any integrative studies courses! ROCK ON! no iss, wra, iah, isp, or any of that crap for me!

kristen, do what you want. if you really want to, you’ll be an english major anyway. you can change it now, or you can change it next semester. either way, if that’s what you want, you’ll do it. look up all you can find about being an english major. maybe you could go into advertising or something. i plan to be an english minor, but good luck with whatever you choose. and i almost did fait when i read about emily, but it’s because i’ve had a shitty day and haven’t eaten much, so it’s really not too shocking to the average person.
