this is the sound of settling.

so this has been me taking a temporary livejournal hiatus because really, anything that i would say is merely a repeat of things that have already been said.

yesterday was super cool! amy, whitney, my family, and the mcgreevy’s all came up to the football game. i was feeling kinda bad for all of them because a) our halftime show was really lame and b) i was expecting our football team to get absolutely SLAUGHTERED. i was in matt pagel’s squad for pregame … he seems nice even if he did pick on my marktime. eric leung gave shook my hand after the game and told me nice job … matt, eric, and cory were all excited because they managed to rotate every single trumpet alternate into their squad during the course of the season. marching the pregame show is quite possibly the coolest thing EVER. i <3 it. i can't wait to be in the block next year. :)

not to mention the fact that the spartans absolutely CREAMED the badgers. 49-14. i about died of happiness. during series after the game, we marched around sparty three times. i haven't done series that much since preseason (probably freshman dress). wow! my thighs hurt when i was climbing stairs later last night. anyway - all the people who came to see me were haggling me while i was in the parade block on the way back. whitney and amy were yelling, "kristen's hot! you're so hot kristen!" or some variation on that theme. my mom was like, "don't smile ... you can't smile!" while mr. mcgreevy snapped a TON of pictures. afterwards, all 15 of us tried to go eat pizza somewhere ... and ended up sitting at 3 separate tables. that kind of sucked because i had to keep getting up to go talk to kathy, katy, and allison.

then amy and whitney stayed the night up here ... we hung out at matt and nathaniel's place for quite some time. derek was hanging out with us, too. he had his car up here so we went to run some "errands." nathaniel decided he needed plastic cups and grapejuice so derek and i went all over hell's half acre looking for grapejuice. we never did find any ... so nathaniel had to settle for grape FAYGO soda. this morning, amy, whitney, nathaniel, matt, and i all went to IHOP for breakfast and walked around grand river for awhile. amy & whitney just left a little while ago.

I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! (including but not limited to: kathy, kc, katy, allison, amy, whitney, nathaniel, & matt!) :D

i wish i was going to the penn state game now! a bunch of the trumpets organized a roadtrip for next weekend but i wasn't interested ... since i thought we were gonna lose to wisconsin and therefore i deemed going to the penn state game a waste of money. bagh!

hmmmm...so what else have i been up to this past week? well, last thursday night was a ton of fun: my squad went out to dinner at buffalo wild wings, then i went out for dessert with the trumpet girls at max & erma's. gretchen likes to gossip. a lot. and i hate it when she rips on dave, because i adore dave. he is a really cool guy and gretchen just REAMS on him all the time. dave, ashley, and i were dropping off joe (skuza) at his room and gretchen called dave on the phone. she needed someone's phone number that he had, and he was SO nice to her about it. not overly fake-y nice, but just genuinely nice. i really respect that he knows how much she badmouths him and he is still so nice to her.

at max & erma's, the trumpet girls only wanted to talk about who is going to huddle with who, which i wasn't really into, but it was still a pretty good time. afterwards i came over to case hall for the usual theme thursday party. by the time i got there around 11pm they had long since ditched the emo thing ... since they had deemed it "not good dance music". well, no kidding. i had fun regardless. eric was trying to hand me his car keys and convince me to go buy him sushi. it was highly amusing. i ended up watching old school with derek at like 2am. i found the movie hilarious when i probably normally wouldn’t have. [i'm sure 99 bananas probably helped.] and i still went to my 8 o’clock lab on friday morning.

note to self: no friday classes next year.

friday was pretty uneventful. i received a 43 on my calculus test. (and no, it wasn’t out of 50. YIKES is all i have to say. oh well … no more math EVER.) [EDIT: removed the rest of this paragraph because i realized it didn't really need to be mentioned.]

long entries like this happen when i stop myself from writing. my apologies. to sum things up: i’ve been getting an average of 4 hours of sleep per night, i’ve lost 6 pounds in the last week, i’ve made a few new friends, i’m having a great time, but i still can’t forget.
