god. summer is driving me crazy.
so on monday matt called me and mentioned that i should come home tuesday night to hang out with him, sam, and mason. at first i declined his offer, insisting that i couldn’t really afford to take wednesday off from work at turfgrass. but upon further examination, i realized that combined with my wages at mcdonald’s for this week, i could easily not work wednesday and still break $200 for the week. so on tuesday after work i ventured back to linden. i went to matt’s house and he fed me lipton noodles. bill stopped by to pick up a pair of 2G pyrex plugs from me and ended up hanging out with us. then mason and sam arrived, and even more fun commenced. mostly involving liquor and dance dance revolution. (i can’t tell up the up arrows from the down arrows on that game while SOBER so you can imagine the mess while intoxicated. although i HAVE been doing decent on standard lately … and even beating matt, mwahahaha.) there was also much talking to people on the phone (amy and ashley sound the exact same on the phone, for the record) and harrassing girls mason knew online. oh good times. and bill = lightweight.
wednesday was quite amazing as well. after puking his brains out for a good portion of the night, bill somehow managed to wake up and leave matt’s house in order to work his opening shift at the linden mcdonald’s. crazy. several hours later, sam, mason, matt, and i headed to east lansing. we stopped by the harrison house for me to pick up some stuff and to drop off a check for matt (griffen). also discovered that colin gross is back at the house for good. i still rather like gross despite everything. he always seems so nice and like he goes out of his way to ask me how i’ve been doing and such. plus he forced me to watch a movie with the rest of the household the last time he was home.
oh, and it was mark of all people who helped me fix my internet. “plug into the other router, duh?!”
matt, mason, and i went to el azteco for some lunch and then to moosejaw so the boys could all buy nalgene bottles. sam had to run to the commuter lot to pick up his bike (that has laid dormant there for weeks now) so we also accompanied him there. i ended up in the back of the envoy (or is it a suburban? what the hell does sam’s mom drive?) with sam’s bike and a very large spider. and sam also flew quite hastily over some railroad tracks and sent me for the ride of my life. hahaha.
sam had to head back home to work his closing shift, but i stuck around with mason and matt. i ate ice cream from coldstone (where some 45-year old man tried to hit on me in line … gross). then mason and i totally talked matt into piercing his ears (at 8G!). check out matt’s lj for pictures (malo2112), as they’re pretty hardcore. every time i get another piercing i think i’m done, but the itch is back and i’m quickly running out of places to poke holes. i may be settling for some new jewelry for my already existing holes in the meantime.
thursday was mainly a day of errand running for me. i went to the dermatologist and received not one but THREE prescriptions for my “type two” acne. including retinA, which i am not too thrilled about. then i went to the dentist (where they bitched at me because i haven’t had x-rays since 1999 and refuse to consider having my wisdom teeth removed) and finally to the chiropractor. then matt came over thursday night and we literally spent hours online looking at plugs (but only after eating cottage inn chicken & fetta cheese pizza!). i finally settled on a pair of these in yellow burmese. i also listed some old clothes on eBay in hopes of making some extra cash.
friday and today i worked 6am-2pm at mcdonald’s. jim hits on me a lot (i think the flirting has become even more obvious now that his girlfriend doesn’t work identical shifts with him anymore) and kevin might buy my saturn. oh, and i miss ashley polinski because now there is no one to exclaim, “good morning, kris-TON!” when i walk in. that’s really all the news on the mcdonald’s front. i always hope (and say) that when i walk out those doors it will be for the last time, but like jim says (with an upward nod of his chin), “you’ll be back.” and i always am.
i got a lot of mail yesterday; a thank you note from mike for his graduation gift, a letter informing me i received a $750 scholarship i applied for, an invitation to kelly’s lakehouse, and my linguistics book for my fall LIN 200 class that i bought on amazon.com for $13.99.
my parents purchased my uncle’s 1998 bonneville SLE. it’s silver and sleek looking. not as nice & loaded as my dad’s bonneville, but still nice. i get to drive it back to east lansing and then home this final time coming up. i can’t believe it’s almost time for me to get my new saturn. i wish my new one was silver.
i went to adrienne’s open house with my family today and it was kind of weird. mainly because i was one of the older younger people there (does that make sense?) and i don’t really know adrienne that well. but her mom and my mom are like super good friends, so i was stuck going. it wasn’t so bad – kc french braided my hair and i hung out with jeff and kathy and the mcgreevy girls.
near the end of my time there i ended up being cornered by sean’s parents because my mom mentioned i am deciding between a crown and a veneer for my front right tooth. since mrs. corey’s a dental hygeinist and mr. corey’s had fancy work done on his front teeth, they were both like, “let me see; smile!” what was i supposed to do? so i’m gritting my teeth and trying to laugh at the awkwardness of the whole thing and mrs. corey starts telling me that my teeth aren’t that bad and when i’m older and have money of my own i can have everything redone: namely my eyes, teeth, and boobs. and the entire time i’m just sitting there thinking, i’d really rather not be discussing my breasts with mrs. corey. holy awkward. she means well and i like her but even though i’m not dating her son anymore i am still terrified of her.
tomorrow i am leaving for st. louis with my family. i really like st. louis, even if i’ve only been there twice. once for the band trip freshman year of high school and the second time because i was tossing around the idea of attending st. louis college of pharmacy. actually, i was this close to going there (i even paid my security deposit). it was my heart that held me back, i think. not only because i had a serious boyfriend but also because i have friends and family here and some part of my subconsciousness didn’t want to leave that. but i love where i’m at (MSU!!!!) and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
i leave you with one thought: stairwells.

You know, I had something really funny to leave here, but I completely forgot. Oh yeah! I was driving through town yesterday, and Emily walked right out in front of my moving vehicle. She didn’t even look. If Shana and Francisco hadn’t been with her and Sean, well, I’m not sure what would’ve happened. Just Kidding!! ;)
wtf is wrong with your eyes and teeth and boobs?! last time i checked, you had them all…
First: WHY won’t you remove your wisdom teeth?
Second: Mrs. Corey is not terrifying; she gossips a lot and it’s really funny. she tells you about whatever enters her head while she cleans your teeth. she’s a very Linden-y kind of person.
because my wisdom teeth aren’t bothering me and i don’t have dental insurance? =D seem like good enough reasons for me.
