I’m sitting in the Denver, Colorado airport typing this on my Michigan State University-owned laptop. Soon I will be home and I am not quite sure what awaits me there. Boxes of things to sort through, a too skinny mother, a worn down father. I’ve ignored the reality of everything all summer and now I’m scared to face it, after everyone else has already had time to figure things out.
But I’ve been lost in my little drum corps world for the past 3 months. The coast-to-coast tour seemed to last forever, thankfully. It’s August and all I have to show for my hard work is a really bad sock tan, a girly six pack, a participation medal, and another link from my shako. So much pain but oh-so worth it.
Corner met me in California and we went to Santa Monica yesterday with Darrin, laid out on the beach (me in my $132 Juicy Couture bikini), ate some sushi. Sadly, we did not go to the bar. I’ve been 21 for 2 months and still have yet to go.
Lots to do when I get home. I am essentially homeless for another 10 days and carless for an undetermined amount of time.

More importantly, I havn’t seen you since you’ve turned 21. We have to make up for lost time and get you back in shape for MSU.
