I upgraded to WordPress 2.7 and it’s beautiful. The admin area is fantastic.
I have decided that pretty much everything is better with sriracha (hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, scrambled eggs, etc.).
Christmas shopping is DONE. I did it all online this year, and it was awesome. No lines, no hassle, no screaming kids, no stress. I highly recommend it. It cost about the same if not a little less than shopping in real life, since so many places were offering free shipping. If you’re receiving a present from me, expect it to be pretty cool (I’m proud of my shopping efforts this year).
Speaking of recommendations, are you on Yelp yet? If not, you probably should be. And you should probably add me as a friend. This weekend I wrote my 100th review and it felt great. I’m hoping that the Yelp community picks up in the Monterey Bay area — right now the Talk area is pretty dead and the Events section is nonexistent. Given our proximity to San Francisco, I’m thinking the Yelp love will spread down here sooner rather than later.
On Saturday I took Nigel to a groomer who came highly recommended on Yelp and she was FANTASTIC — Nigel is looking super cute just in time for the holidays. While Nigel was getting groomed, we stopped in at Plato’s Closet across the street and I got a bunch of new clothes for only $23 (I love being frugal). Saturday evening I went out for sushi with Corner and 2 of his coworkers. It felt good to finally hang out with some people our age.
Corner and I still don’t have a TV (we’re hoping they go on sale after the holidays), but we do now have a washer/dryer combo that we found on craigslist for $100. The house is still slowly coming together; we have a lot more artwork on the walls now (it’s a good thing Corner doesn’t mind all of my Kurt Halsey stuff).
I can’t believe Christmas is next week already! I can’t afford to fly home or to the Capital One Bowl, so Corner, Nigel, and I will be hanging out in Palm Desert for the weekend. It will be a little weird to not be with my family, but it will be okay.

Since you cannot shut your trap about this Yelp site, I suppose I’ll take a look at in after I’m done writing this comment. ;)
I wish you were coming home, but I understand why you can’t. I want to come to California but I’m saving up for a new apartment for when I move back home.
ANYWAY.
I can’t wait for my gift to come in the mail. <3!
What’s wrong with a little (or a lot) Kurt Halsey??? *shakes fist at Corner*
Can I ask if it was a total pain to upgrade WP? Me and Angela have been a little timid to try it. What do you have to do?
I was scared the first time, too (what if something goes wrong?)! To be honest it used to be a bit of a pain, then I discovered the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin. It makes it a breeze.
