Christmas loot

I received the following gifts for Christmas this year:

  • Toaster, Cal King sheets, 2 pillows, bath mat, and soap dispenser from Dad
  • Blender from Robin
  • Bath & dish towels from Grandma and Bill
  • Green dishtowels and dishcloths from Les
  • Michigan State stocking from Mom
  • $100 Mastercard gift card from Mom (will probably go towards buying a TV!)
  • Pearl Izumi fingerless bike gloves from KC
  • 2 purses from Kathy (these haven’t arrived yet but they should be here any day)
  • GWS Nebula plugs and IS Transparent Pink Dichro plugs from Corner
  • Anatometal Super Blings – CZ/garnet alternating around the outside w/CZ centers (these were a “to me from me” Christmas present)

Some ear porn, for those of you who are interested in seeing the latest additions to my plug collection:

Corner and I spent Christmas in Palm Desert. It was a little weird not being back in Michigan with my family, but flights were SUPER expensive and a lot of them ended up being canceled anyway due to all the snow in the Midwest. Corner’s Aunt Koreen flew out from Rochester, New York to be with the rest of their family. Corner, Darrin, Koreen, and I went to Disneyland the day after Christmas. I actually had a lot more fun than I expected to (I was a little worried since it’s supposed to be geared towards kids/families)! We rode Space Mountain first, which is the roller coaster that made me fear all roller coasters after my parents dragged me on it at the age of 6 (I didn’t ride another roller coaster until I was almost 18!). So much fun. I think my favorite was the Indiana Jones ride. We tried to eat lunch at the restaurant that sits on the bayou of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, but they were booked until the following evening.

Corner and I got back to Seaside late last night. Today we went shopping and looked at a lot of TVs (but still didn’t buy one). I spent some money at American Eagle and Plato’s Closet (the Plato’s here is pretty awesome — today I got a coach slim envelope wallet for $15!). I also picked up a bunch of dressy-ish shirts for work…and this sweatshirt just for fun because it’s French and I love it:

I have the entire next week off from work. I don’t have a lot of plans other than relax and spend time with Nigel and maybe get a haircut. Lately I have been getting the urge to run an online business on the side (mostly because I am still in awe of Kristin Key’s Thrifty Outfitters). I’m thinking maybe some customized dog leashes/bowls/accessories but I have yet to decide if I am talented enough (and have enough spare time!) to embark on such a venture. I’m hoping to reflect on this idea during my time off from work this week. Any other suggestions as to what I should do with my time off?

Awe, thank you for the mention! =)
I think you could totally start something! Etsy is amazing and I think there would be big market for pet accessories. You can even sell blog layouts and whatnot on there.

I love your new plugs! I have Pearl Izumi bike gloves and I love them.

Also, I got a real job! It’s a full-time internship with Gale/Cengage Learning, and it runs a year, so, I guess I’ll be stuck out in Michigan for awhile longer, but I’m hoping to save up money during the year. Until then I will just keep living vicariously through you and your blog, haha.

Congrats on the internship! It sounds pretty cool — what kind of work are you going to be doing exactly? I worked a full-time internship this summer and it was pretty fantastic, hopefully it will be the same for you (and you’ll get lots of good references for those future full-time “real” jobs)!

I am excited about the prospect of starting something up on Etsy, now I just have to figure out specifics. And I can’t wait to go biking with my new gloves!

I don’t really know yet. I am going to be the editorial intern for their Health, Law, and Government team? I think they do a lot of electronic reference materials. That’s about all I know though, for now! I am excited to start though, I have been working at Target (the Starbucks) and I am ready to leave.

I miss riding my bike so much! Just another reason why I want to get out to San Fran! haha. Oh my god, there was a ride , I don’t remember what month, but it’s in SF and it’s a cupcake ride, basically you ride and there are all these checkpoints with cupcakes, and for the cupcakes you eat, you get time deducted from your total ride … I don’t know, but, dream come true!
