This design was created for the Alumni Relations Office at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. It was printed on business card-sized magnets that are handed out to promote the school’s alumni website. I was sent specific design elements that needed to be included: flags, the MIIS logo, and the alumni site’s URL.

This site was created as a design exercise for Google. I wanted to do something different than my previous version of the same exercise. The body copy I was given was nearly the same as when I did the exercise almost 2 years ago, so I freshened it up a bit to include more of Google’s collaboration tools that I would actually use to plan a vacation/trip. I checked my Delicious bookmarks for some design inspiration, came across some jquery sliders, and decided to give one of them a try.

This was my video audition for the Body Modification Ezine (BME) World Tour. This video acted as a cover letter and attempted to convince BME that I was a good fit for the tour in terms of both skills and personality. I was chosen as one of 18 finalists.

I created flyers, programs, and a large hanging sign for the TEDxMonterey event. I created these items using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. I also assisted in the creation of the TEDxMonterey website, social media presences, and slidedeck.

I drew this portrait of my friend Mara for her to use as a branding element on her portfolio website.

I collaborated with one other person to create a set of 10 social media icons for the Monterey Institute of International Studies alumni site. Several of the icons were for international social networking sites. The set includes Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn, Mixi, Orkut, Sina, StudiVZ, Twitter, Vkontakte, and YouTube.

This video was created for the Founders’ Circle and Legacy Society event at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. It was shown as part of a presentation to help donors experience the Global Voices podcast project and demonstrate how podcasting is connecting students at the Monterey Institute to the rest of the world.

I crafted this space for the Monterey Institute of International Studies to showcase their latest podcasting efforts on iTunes U.

I developed this site for The UPS Store Franchise Owners Association using ExpressionEngine. Their old site was created using PHPNuke. The purpose of the site is to help streamline business practices and facilitate the sharing of resources among the UPS Stores. Much of the site’s content is available only to association members. The site also allows the client to upload and display banner ads from various advertisers. I provided written documentation for the client detailing this process.

This project allowed me to learn a lot about ExpressionEngine. The site makes use of templates, subtemplates, and user defined global variables.

I drew this font for the Michigan State University Spartan Marching Band tuba section. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created the characters based on 8 letters used in the Spartan Tuba logo. I then exported all 26 characters to Fontographer, where I set the font baseline and made further tweaks. I plan to update this font again in the future because there is a slight difference in some of the stroke weights.
