Spartan Tuba Font

Spartan Tuba Font

I drew this font for the Michigan State University Spartan Marching Band tuba section. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created the characters based on 8 letters used in the Spartan Tuba logo. I then exported all 26 characters to Fontographer, where I set the font baseline and made further tweaks. I plan to update this font again in the future because there is a slight difference in some of the stroke weights.

ITaP Knowledge Base Video

ITaP Knowledge Base Videos

Using Adobe Captivate, I created over 50 instructional videos for the Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP) Knowledge Base. This particular video accompanies article #3174 and explains how to import data from an Excel spreadsheet into the Blackboard Grade Book.

Icons 1

E-Learning Icons

Using Adobe Illustrator, I designed (or redesigned) 4 sets of icons for Purdue University's Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT) unit. TLT is a division of Information Technology at Purdue (ITaP) that supports the evolving use of technology to facilitate learning in and beyond the traditional classroom environment. These icons will be used for Purdue's online training courses that teach professors and instructors how to use Blackboard for their classes.

Kresge Splash Images

These images were displayed on the front page of Kresge Art Museum's website. They were intended to inform viewers of the museum's current exhibitions and encourage them to visit the exhibitions' individual pages. The styles of these splash images vary as much as the exhibitions themselves and demonstrate my ability to design for a variety of situations.

This small graphic was created using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. It exercises my knowledge of effective typography as well as consistent design: the graphic is entirely styled in black and white, using only the color red for emphasis.

Treasure Map

Treasure Map

Created using Google Earth and Adobe Illustrator, this map was used to guide students to a specific destination on Michigan State University's campus and help them locate a hidden item. This map fulfills this purpose using only images — no words (although the words "VanHoosen Hall" have been placed back on the image for the purposes of this portfolio). This piece demonstrates the importance of accuracy when making maps.
