This site was created as a design exercise for Google. I was sent a page (with associated images) for what could be a stand-alone tour promoting specific Google services. The
original design had been purposely hacked. My assignment was to fix all coding, copy, and aesthetic mistakes in the file and to revise, remove, or add elements to improve the overall design.
This site examines the perks and the pitfalls of off-campus housing in East Lansing, Michigan (home of Michigan State University). It demonstrates my ability to research and report on a topic and to appropriately use the web as a medium. The site includes video interviews and much of the content was based on a survey of over 200 MSU students.
This site was created on a 2-hour deadline given only the titles of movies released during December of 2007 and their corresponding DVD cover images. It is evidence of my ability to work quickly and efficiently while not sacrificing good design.
Created for the Kresge Art Museum, this site displays works featured in the Marion Post Wolcott exhibition. Pastel shades of purple, green, and orange accent the beautiful black and white photographs. This site uses the Javascript utility Thickbox.
I designed and developed this digital auction gallery for Kresge Art Museum's 2007 Twilight in the Garden fundraiser, which raised over $90,000 in proceeds to benefit the Art Museum Facilities Fund to build the future Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum. It was created using
Gallery.
This site was created for the Kresge Art Museum. Since this exhibition was one where visitors created their own artwork using the provided materials, I chose to use images of basic art tools: tape, glue, and scissors. I also used primary colors because they are the basis of all colors used in art.
This site showcases over 1,600 digital photographs from the Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps' 2007 summer tour. These photos visually document the members' progress during the Glassmen's coast-to-coast tour beginning in Annapolis, Maryland, and ending in Pasadena, California.
Created for the Kresge Art Museum, this page displays 5 photographs from the Circus: The Art of the “Strange & Curious” exhibit featuring huge historic sideshow banners. This fun page features a purple, gold, red, and green color scheme and Circus-style fonts. It also demonstrates my ability to implement Javascript through the use of Lightbox, a Javascript utility for displaying photographs.
Created for the Kresge Art Museum, this site displays 3 photographs from the Sorrow Unmasked exhibit featuring images of grief, mourning, and remembrance. A black, pale yellow, and lavender color scheme and several somber fonts are used. The site also uses Thickbox, a Javascript utility for displaying photographs.
Created as my first of 13 individual gallery pages for the Kresge Art Museum, this page features the Working America exhibit containing photographs provided by the Ewing Galloway Agency. The grey, black, and red color scheme is representative of the working life. This site also uses Lightbox, a Javascript utility.
This site was created for Michigan State University's Theta Delta Chi (Gamma Triton charge). It was a redesign of their original site, which used a generic template. TDX wanted a fresh look for their site in order to attract future rush classes. My redesign includes a PHP-powered forum so the fraternity brothers can keep in touch easily. You may also view the
wireframe and
mockups for this project.
